Bioplastic Additives & Plasticizers
Innovative, Green Solutions for Sustainable Bioplastic Applications
We offer a broad portfolio of high-performance additives and plasticizers designed specifically for bioplastics such as PLA, PHA, PBAT, PBS, starch-based polymers, and more. These eco-friendly solutions enable the development of cutting-edge applications including single-use food packaging, non-woven textiles, coffee cups, shopping bags, and beyond.
Benefits Our Additives Deliver
- Reduce melt viscosity for easier processing
- Modify mechanical and thermal properties to enhance durability
- Promote biodegradability to support environmental sustainability
- Improve compatibility between bioplastic blends and bioplastic-filler systems
- Increase the bio-based content for greener product formulations
Our Flagship Products
Glyplast® OLAs
These 100% bio-based and biodegradable polyesters, derived from lactic acid, offer a wide range of viscosities and are specially formulated for bioplastic applications as:
- Plasticizers
- Impact Modifiers
- Compatibilizers
- Chain Extenders
- Nucleating Agents
Glyplast® PAs
Saturated polyesters that are 100% biodegradable and partially bio-based, Glyplast® PAs serve as excellent replacements for traditional plasticizers such as citrates, glycerol, and sorbitol. They provide superior migration resistance and extraction stability, making them ideal when regulatory compliance is crucial. Additionally, these plasticizers enhance flexibility even at low temperatures.
Both Glyplast® OLAs and Glyplast® PAs are characterized by:
- Low toxicity and low volatility
- High solvating performance
- Minimal migration and residue
- Excellent biodegradability
- High bio-based content
- Compliance with stringent regulations such as EU 10/2011 and its updates regarding Food Contact Materials
