Blown Vegetable Oils

Nimac offers a range of blown vegetable oils including blown rapeseed oil, blown castor oil and blown soyabean oil.

Blown rapeseed oil is a polar liquid due to the presence of oxygen bridges in the double bonds, combining this property with its sheer resistance and high temperature resistance makes blown rapeseed oil a useful base fluid and lubricity additive in both neat oil and water extendable metalworking fluids. Typical treat rate 5-25%

Due to its compatibility with polar resins blown rapeseed oil is used as a plasticizer to replace phthalates, it’s also used as a moisturizing additive in pigments, paints and enamels. Blown rapeseed oil is also used in putties and caulks.
