NiMAC responds to local Hospice’s urgent PPE appeal
The local newspaper, the Express & Star, recently put out an urgent request asking the community and local businesses for their help and support in supplying desperately needed PPE for Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge, to protect their patients and staff during the coronavirus pandemic.
With knowledge of the excellent work that the Mary Stevens Hospice undertakes, NIMAC were honoured to be able to support the locally based charity by donating critically needed hand sanitiser.
Mary Stevens Hospice is a registered charity run by a dedicated and hardworking team of Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapist and volunteers to provide specialist care and support for people who are living with incurable illnesses. Their care is holistic, supportive and aims to relieve symptoms, improve a quality of life and maintain dignity.
The MD of NiMAC, Nigel McDonald, has personal experience of the excellent support that Mary Stevens Hospice gives to those under their care. Moved by the appeal, and understanding the importance of the sanitiser to ensure that staff and visitors are kept safe whilst attending to their patients and loved ones, Nigel delivered the companies stock of sanitiser to the hospice, followed by a then frantic search for replacement product to ensure the continued safe working of the NiMAC team!
The hospice staff were extremely grateful for the donation and we hope by promoting this appeal that other organisations or companies with PPE to spare may also consider a donation to their local hospice.
