Members and guests gather for the UKLA Annual Dinner

The Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel in London welcomed the members and guests of the United Kingdom Lubricants association for the Annual Dinner last week, the lubricant industry’s most prestigious networking event. The association represents a large majority of the UK Lubricants Industry and actively engages with other regulatory bodies on cross-sector panels such as the Reach Cross-Sector industry group and the Nanotechnology Forum. However focus for the current president, Hugh Dowding, during his time in office, will be re-investing the boards energy in to benefitting the Membership and raising awareness of the association on a national scale.

Nigel McDonald, UKLA Vice President and Honorary Treasurer, represented NiMAC Ltd at this years event, two years on from watching former UKLA president and NiMAC employee, David Jukes, receive a Special Award of Council. The award recognized his on-going contribution to the board in an advisory capacity and celebrated the achievement of becoming the longest serving President after stepping down in 2012.

This year, members and guests were treated to an award winning after dinner speaker as America’s Got Talent winner, Paul Zerdin, entertained the audience with impressions and a ventriloquist act involving the UKLA’s very own Nigel Bottom. When asked about the evenings’ entertainment, Nigel said ‘Paul was a fantastic after dinner speaker and really funny, the Annual Dinner is such a well organised and well attended event, it’s always good to see so many familiar faces”.

The awards this year went to Miren Uriguen for Young Employee of the Year and Rod Pesch was presented with the Presidents Award, Congratulations to them both.
